Overview

BACKGROUND KNOWLEDGE
On July 27, 1953, an armistice agreement was signed to cease fire in the Korean War and establish a de facto military demarcation line along the 38th parallel, which resulted in the complete division of a once united nation. A war buffer zone was created along this demarcation line, a strip of land known as the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ).
Inside the DMZ lies the 3rd Infiltration Tunnel, one of the underground tunnels dug by North Korea as part of its five major military provocations, specifically designed for a surprise invasion of the South. During the tour, we will descend into this tunnel and explore it firsthand, gaining a vivid sense of the ongoing tensions and the reality of the division on the Korean Peninsula.
At the North Korea Experience Hall, you can enjoy the following four unique activities:
- Photo zones featuring replicas of a typical North Korean home, classroom, and everyday household items.
- Exclusive documentary screenings revealing the realities of life in North Korea.
- Live Q&A session with a North Korean defector.
- Commemorative photo opportunity with the defector.
These experiences offer a rare and immersive insight into daily life across the border.
