Morning Tour No. 1 (Itinerary): City hall, Cheonggyecheon Stream and Gwanghwamun Square → Jogyesa(Temple) → The Royal Guard Changing Ceremony → Gyeongbok Palace(Deoksu Palace on Tue) → The National Folk Museum → Pass by the Prior Presidential Residence(The Blue House)

Lunch: Korean Cuisine

Gwangjang Market: Gwangjang Market was the first permanent market in Korea and continues to thrive as a popular tourist destination today. The name Gwangjang means "to gather from afar and keep altogether." The market began as a small trading center that brought in goods from nearby regions, but has now grown into a large wholesale market selling a variety of goods, including upholstery, imported goods, groceries, dried fish, traditional goods, and more. The most popular section of the market is the food street connected to the East Gate, North Gate 2, and South Gate 1. The food street caters to a wide range of patrons due to the plethora of menus available. It is also one of the most recommended tourist attraction for international travelers.

Namsan Hanok Village (Bukchon Hanok village on Mon): Namsan Hanok Village opened in 1998 on the northern side of Namsan Mountain in the center of the capital. This village has five restored hanok (traditional Korean house) premises, a pavilion, a traditional garden, a performance art stage, and a time capsule plaza, making it a perfect spot for locals and tourists to take a leisure walk. Upon entering from the front gate, visitors will get a taste of Korea's traditional life while escaping from bustling city life. The traditional garden with its pavilion and old houses creates a peaceful ambiance before the forested Namsan Mountain. A time capsule commemorating Seoul’s 600th anniversary was buried in 1994 at the highest point of the village and is scheduled to be reopened 400 years later in 2394.

N-Seoul Tower: N(Namsan)-Seoul Tower was the first multipurpose tower to be established in Korea, effectively incorporating a sightseeing observatory to a broadcasting tower. For the past 40 years, Namsan Seoul Tower has served as an iconic landmark of Korea and a representative tourist attraction. The tower's observatory offers an unobstructed view of the whole city, allowing it to become one of the all-time favorite attractions of Seoul citizens as well as domestic and international tourists. Another highlight of the tower is the Namsan Cable Car. The cable car began its operation in 1962, transferring passengers from the foot of the mountain to the base of the tower. Shuttle buses to the Namsan Cable Car from downtown Seoul are also available for visitors' convenience.

A Foodie's Paradise

This market is super lively and colorful! We went on a Sunday when only the food section was open, but there was still a crazy variety of traditional Korean street food. We saw mandu (dumplings), bindaetteok (mung bean pancakes), eomukguk (fish cake soup), mayak kimbap (bite-size seaweed rolls), tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes), and hotteok (sweet pancakes). For the adventurous eaters, there was yukhoe (Korean beef tartare), soondae (pig intestines stuffed with noodles and pork blood), and even sannakji (live octopus)!! We played it safe and stuck to the mandu, kimbap, and hotteok—still so good!

Great Spot for Street Food & Souvenirs

A solid place to find a variety of Korean street food all in one spot! It can get pretty crowded, but that just adds to the vibe. There are also plenty of souvenir stalls—though not all are budget-friendly. The food stalls seem to be popular with locals too. If you’re coming in from the main Eastern entrance off Dongho-ro, keep an eye out for an amazing dumpling spot on your right!
